New/Like New
Before Installation Turn OFF the main water supply. Disconnect power from the water softener system. Open a nearby faucet to release water pressure. Place a towel or bucket under the valve area to catch remaining water. Step 1 – Remove the Old Valve Locate the old bypass valve on the back of the water softener. Remove the retaining clips or clamp rings from both sides. Pull the old valve straight out from the valve body. Clean the connection ports and remove any debris or mineral buildup. Step 2 – Prepare the New Valve Check that all O-rings and seals are properly installed. Apply a small amount of the included lubricant to the O-rings if needed. Make sure all seals are clean and free from damage. Step 3 – Install the New Valve Align the new 7129871 bypass valve with the inlet and outlet ports. Push the valve evenly into the valve body until fully seated. Reinstall the retaining clips or clamp rings securely. If threaded connections are used, apply Teflon tape before tightening. Step 4 – Restore Water Supply Slowly turn the main water supply back ON. Check all connections for leaks. Run water through the system for several minutes to remove trapped air. Return the bypass valve to “Service” mode for normal operation. Note Do not remove clips while the system is under pressure. Do not overtighten threaded connections. If leakage occurs, turn off the water supply and recheck the O-rings, seals, clips, and connections.
