Assembly involves inserting the glass in the shade and then putting the shade on the base. The lamp changes intensity in light by the change in capacitance. When a hand touches it, it changes in capacitance and therefore changes the lamp to go into the next light setting. This also occurs when there is a surge or an unstable electrical current. Therefore, the light turning on/off on its own is related to the customer’s electricity and not due to the touch sensor functionality.
